David Hogg Organizes Another Walkout, But His Conservative Classmate Has Set A Different Agenda

David Hogg and his classmates recently successfully organized and carried out a national school walkout in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the horrible Parkland shooting and to also raise awareness for increased gun control. Now, he decided to organize another one.

Hogg took to Twitter, Monday to announce that the walkout would be taking place on Friday, the 19th anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting in Littleton, Colorado, in “1100+ schools across the country.” Hogg noted that the Columbine community would be “committing their day to community service”:

However, there is someone who isn’t in favor of Hogg’s walkout.

Kyle Kashuv, a classmate of Hogg’s, decided to organize a livestream which represents many conservative speakers on the same day.

In a statement to IJR, Kashuv said:

“Walking out during school hours is counterproductive. School is where we should be learning about our constitution and our history so one can make a well-educated opinion on the gun debate.

Walking out after school would be commendable, but this isn’t. I get the significance of the time and date, but wouldn’t the time be more sanctified if we did charity, learned about the events, or helped ensure this never happens again?

I am going to use the time to have live speakers speak on Facebook about anything related to the Constitution that they choose. I welcome both sides of the debate.”

Speakers so far include Dr. Gorka, Matt Schlapp, Dick Heller, Dr. Kelli Ward, Kurt Schlichter, and we’re working on a few superstars.

He took to Twitter, Sunday, and state that he’s working on having one speaker every 15 minutes “go live on Facebook at 10:00 AM-11:00 AM on Friday, to discuss ways to save lives without infringing on the 2nd Amendment and the importance of mental health and not bullying”

Kashuv is also working on convincing Turning Point USA founder and executive director Charlie Kirk to speak at his high school but has been refused since “non-school sponsored, student-initiated guest speaker assemblies/meetings are not allowed to take place on campus.”
