Well, this is a development many political followers never saw coming. One of the twentieth century’s most insufferable, self-righteous do-gooders, former peanut farmer and President of the United States, actually paid President Donald Trump a compliment.
During an interview with Politico’s Off Message podcast, Carter said, “If President Trump is successful in getting a peace treaty that’s acceptable to both sides with North Korea, I think he certainly ought to be considered for the Nobel Peace Prize.”
“I think it would be a worthy and a momentous accomplishment that no previous president has been able to realize,” he continued.
Well, knock over all American conservatives with a feather. Mr. I take the high road recognizes that the street fighter we have as president might actually be able to pull off the impossible.
Of late, given the sheer number of diplomatic victories the Trump Administration has racked up in a short time, Trump’s name and “Nobel Peace Prize” have been linked up more than anyone thought possible. There are those who are not so sure about going there though.

Musk might be right. The North Korean situation is by no means done. There are still many details to work out, still many things we who do not have access to intelligence do not know. However, given that no less than Jimmy Carter recognizes the achievement of at least getting the two sides in the same room, the most coveted award in politics may well be in play.
Whether or not Trump would accept such an award…that’s a different story.
When Mr. Trump held a rally in Michigan on Saturday, his fans chanted “Nobel, Nobel, Nobel!”
“That’s very nice, thank you. That’s very nice,” a visibly flattered Mr. Trump said in response. “I just want to get the job done.”
And that is why American deplorables voted for the man.
