Since the declared Democrat takeover of the House of Representatives, a body that can investigate until the cows come home, and the results tend to go nowhere, those of the old guard of leadership has been busy making the rounds telling the world what to expect now that they are in charge.

[Axios’s] national reporter Jonathan Swan writes Democrats are considering launching at least 85 investigations into President Trump and high-ranking officials, including the firing of then-FBI Director James Comey and whether the president violated the Constitution’s emoluments clause. Further, Democrats will likely seek information on the administration’s family separation policy and relief efforts for Puerto Rico’s Hurricane Maria.

However, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), who is expected to become House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence chairman, claims Democrats aren’t going to launch the investigation and subpoenas all at once. Instead, lawmakers will prioritize which focus-areas are of utmost importance to them and then work there way down the long list. Schiff says Democrats will also probe President Trump’s urging of the postmaster general to hike Amazon’s shipping costs.

We get it. This is the stuff they aren’t happy about and are willing to waste taxpayer time and dollars to “investigate” just to make a point to the administration that they aren’t happy about it or the upsetting of the apple carts that the Trump Administration has been doing in a systematic fashion since riding into Washington.

And the dingbats are telling their enemies what they will be up to thus giving them a chance to have countermeasures.

Oh, yeah, that’s a smart move.

In a Sunday morning interview with ABC, Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) vowed to investigate the White House for possibly tampering with the FBI’s background check into now-Justice Brett Kavanaugh, whose Supreme Court nomination was thrown into uncertainty after decades-old allegations of sexual misconduct were brought against him.

“A lot of witnesses who should’ve been – who volunteered to come forward weren’t – weren’t interviewed and so forth. But we have to look into that with a view toward making sure that future FBI investigations are not subject to the same kind of White House interference and can be relied upon,” Nadler said of the bureau’s investigation. “That’s the – the part that we – I think we have to look at, not with a view toward doing anything about Justice Kavanaugh there – he’s there, unfortunately – but with a view toward making sure that the integrity of the process for the future is restored.”

One little issue…the Senate has direct oversight over the FBI and nominations to the Supreme Court and Cabinet. The House investigating any of this would be an overreach.

Don’t expect that to stop them, though.

Just wait until Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg resigns or succumbs to infirmity. Talk about all hell breaking loose.
