There have been rumors for quite a while that former Vice President and persistent lecher Joe Biden has been considering a run for the White House. Over the weekend, his remarks at a Democrat party meeting seemed to more than hint at it. In fact, Biden was pitching his credentials, or what he believes passes for them for the big job in the Oval Office.
“I’m told I get criticized by the ‘New Left,’ ” Biden told the audience. “I have the most progressive record of anybody running for the … anybody who would run.”…
“We have to bring this country back together again,” Biden continued.
“The world’s worst dictators are using [the president’s] own words to justify their own abuses of power,” he added.
Biden’s remarks were met with applause from his fellow Democrats. As much as conservatives tend to ridicule Biden for some of the huge foot in mouth disease episodes, it looks like Biden may well be the best shot Democrats have to challenge President Donald Trump in 2020.
He consistently polls higher than other announced candidates such as Sens. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), indicating that he would enter the race near the top of the crowded Democratic field if he announced a bid for the White House.
Biden’s main concern with running is reportedly the trials of a campaign (and presumably the presidency) on his family. Otherwise, with a fairly weak bench, if all the Democrats can come up with the challenge the president in 2020 is Joe Biden, the man may well become a sacrificial lamb on the altar of “progressivism.”
