Not only do the Democrats in Congress collect a salary for doing next to nothing, but now they are lecturing the nation on morality, or at least their version of it.
According to a handful of Senators who really want Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to take up the amnesty cause in the upper chamber, We the People owe it to the illegal aliens who are squatting all over the country, using up our resources and money to make them legal.
Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Ben Cardin (D-MD), and Tim Kaine (D-VA) are urging the GOP-controlled Senate to pass their amnesty plan, which gives nearly half a million foreign nationals living in the U.S. on Temporary Protected Status (TPS) a pathway to American citizenship.
Cardin said in a statement that Americans are obligated to give foreign nationals permanent legal residency and eventually U.S. citizenship via an amnesty. According to Cardin:
These individuals have lawfully lived and worked in the U.S. as our neighbors, as they sought refuge in the U.S. We have an obligation to take action and give needed predictability and safety to people who are in an uncertain status. We need to stand up for the American values of compassion and diversity that have made this country stronger.
Feinstein said the 440,000 foreign nationals who would receive the amnesty have “earned the right” to permanently stay in the U.S.
“The Senate needs to follow the House’s lead and pass these important protections for immigrant families who have been living and working in the United States for decades,” Feinstein said. “After fleeing wars and natural disasters, these families have established deep roots in our communities and earned the right to remain together here in the United States.”
There are numerous reports that the hoards crossing the border are actually financed by global business interests, but that doesn’t seem to matter to the Democrats. No, they just want one of their main constituencies legalized.
After all, there is a presidential election coming up, and the Department of Commerce is asking about citizenship on next year’s census.
But, of course, that has nothing to do with amnesty. No, we’re just saving these people from inhospitable living conditions, according to the Senator who employed a Chinese spy for twenty years and claims not to know he was one.
Right. We the People aren’t falling for the guilt card this time around.
