Given the timeline of events in the summer of 2016 with Bill Clinton meeting with former Attorney General Loretta Lynch on the tarmac in Arizona in June, and then right around the fourth of July then FBI Director James Comey holding a press conference where he laid out the crimes for which the bureau actually had evidence of Hillary Clinton committing and then said that no reasonable prosecutor would pursue filing charges, any American with a brain knew something was rotten in Washington.
It turns out, we were all correct, and one of the disgraced characters in the Department of Justice/FBI group that were working in concert to not only prevent President Donald Trump’s election but undermine it once it was a reality, admitted it under oath in a closed-door Congressional hearing.
Former FBI lawyer Lisa Page admitted under questioning from Texas Republican Rep. John Ratcliffe last summer that “the FBI was ordered by the Obama DOJ not to consider charging Hillary Clinton for gross negligence in the handling of classified information,” the congressman alleged in a social media post late Tuesday, citing a newly unearthed transcript of Page’s closed-door testimony….
“So let me if I can, I know I’m testing your memory,” Ratcliffe began as he questioned Page under oath, according to a transcript excerpt he posted on Twitter. “But when you say advice you got from the Department, you’re making it sound like it was the Department that told you: You’re not going to charge gross negligence because we’re the prosecutors and we’re telling you we’re not going to —”
Page interrupted: “That is correct,” as Ratcliffe finished his sentence, ” — bring a case based on that.”…
Page also testified that the DOJ and FBI had “multiple conversations … about charging gross negligence,” and the DOJ decided that the term was “constitutionally vague” and “had either never been done or had only been done once like 99 years ago,” and so “they did not feel they could sustain a charge.”
Page’s testimony which was released to the public by House Judiciary Republicans does not prove definitively that the tarmac meeting dealt with this issue rather than a quick talk about golf and grandchildren, but it does confirm that orders to tone down the rhetoric when it came to Hillary Clinton’s crimes came from someone higher up than Jim Comey.
This revelation is just one detail in the scandal, but it is a very important one. The Obama Administration had no interest in prosecuting Hillary Clinton for crimes that include sedition, treason, and worse. Piece by piece, what really happened is starting to come out.
Maybe We the People will get answers soon to questions that have lingered for years.
