Megyn Kelly got pretty much fired up on Monday over Democrats attempting to politicize the allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, where she yelled at one point, “he’s saying he didn’t do it!”
During a segment on NBC’s “TODAY” Show, Kelly and the panel started talking about Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who has submitted a sexual assault accusation against Kavanaugh nearly four decades ago.
After pointing out a few of the credibility issues regarding Ford, Kelly trashed the idea of the FBI conducting an “independent investigation” into the matter.
“The FBI’s not a super-secret special police force to investigate super-secret really bad things the nominee may have done. That’s why we have congressional investigators. The Republicans actually are investigating the Christine Blasey Ford allegations and the Democrats have refused to do so! They’re standing there in protest saying the FBI needs to do it.”
Kelly criticized severely Senate Democrats and liberal media figures for using trashy, sketchy, and unsubstantiated claims to damage the Kavanaugh’s reputation by falsely accusing him of being a sexual predator and demanding he recuses his nomination.
We don’t know whether Christine Blasey Ford is such a victim. Okay? That must be stated. In my view, the #MeToo movement does not me all women must be believed. All women must get a fair hearing. They must be listened to with an open mind….But some lie. We’ve seen that. So let’s have an open, fair hearing and let people make up their minds after they hear her testify and hear him too. He too is entitled to due process.
And if we go too far and deny due process – deny due process in a case like this, where you have a Supreme Court seat at issue and politics clearly are at play….what does that do to the #MeToo movement?” Holmes replied: “It politicizes it and it diminishes, you know, claims coming forward. I think that is a real risk, what we’re seeing in the next week.
One of the panelists claimed that Kavanaugh could have done what he is accused of Kelly knock him down with facts.
“He’s saying he didn’t do it, Joe!” she shot back. “He’s not saying that those allegations against him amount to nothing if he did! He’s saying he didn’t do it!”
The story surrounding Kavanaugh has attracted a great media coverage, and there have been new developments almost daily.
Do you think Democrats will be able to Impeach Trump?
Kavanaugh strongly refutes the accusations, and several of the witnesses Ford asserted were in the room have publicly stated they never witnessed what Ford alleges happened.
Both Ford and Kavanaugh are scheduled to give their testimonies on Thursday about the alleged incident. Ford, who stated that doesn’t quite remember the party, finally agreed to talk to lawmakers after making numerous excuses in the book to avoid testifying.
And regarding Kelly’s point, Ford lacks any evidence at all to confirm her claim and has done everything he could to avoid testifying.
Conservatives seek the GOP to stand with Kavanaugh and confirm him to the Supreme Court, not cater to liberal scare tactics.
