On the surface, it may look like Margaret Sanger’s Planned Parenthood “non-profit” business is floundering with two headline-making news items in twenty-four hours, but the reality is that the news is outing their boilerplate for the pack of lies it is. The enterprise claims to be all about family planning (birth control) and women’s wellness, but the reality is that it’s an abortion business.
And the people running the place have outed themselves as euphemistic liars.
The first bit of news is the ouster of Cecile Richards’ replacement.
Planned Parenthood has removed its president, Dr. Leana Wen, less than one year after appointing her, the organization announced Tuesday.
“We thank Dr. Leana Wen for her service to Planned Parenthood in such a pivotal time and extend our best wishes for her continued success,” the organization said in a statement.
Wen, who was the first physician to lead Planned Parenthood, took over in November 2018 after longtime president Cecile Richards stepped down.
She tweeted that her ouster came after the organization’s board held a “secret meeting” in which they decided to remove her from her post.
“I am leaving because the new Board Chairs and I have philosophical differences over the direction and future of Planned Parenthood,” she said in a statement. “I believe that the best way to protect abortion care is to be clear that it is not a political issue but a health care one, and that we can expand support for reproductive rights by finding common ground with the large majority of Americans who understand reproductive health care as the fundamental health care that it is.”
According to unnamed sources, it sounds like Wen wasn’t committed to the political aspect of her job – selling the abortion IS healthcare line – as much as the powers that be want, even if they tell the public that politics has nothing to do with a woman’s right to choose.
Also on Tuesday, President Trump’s administration began to enforce a new rule that forces groups receiving federal funds to not refer women for abortions, as well as new regulations, meant to keep the finances separate. Planned Parenthood’s spokespeople outright said the abortion mill(s) will refuse to comply.
“We are not going to comply with a regulation that would require health care providers to not give full information to their patients,” Jacqueline Ayers, the group’s top lobbyist, said in an interview Tuesday. “We believe as a health care provider it is wrong to withhold health care information from patients.”
Abortion as “health care.” It is a service that is neither healthy or caring. Yes, We the People are seeing more of the truth now.
