President Trump Takes Controversial Aim At Federal Agency

It’s a favorite bugaboo of the America first crowd that found each other online, and those who paid attention to history’s sights of hand. It is the Federal Reserve Bank, not so affectionately known as “The Fed“, the private bank cartel that controls the United States’s money supply, and on Tuesday, President Donald Trump put it front and center.

First, the president put up a Tweet which has since been taken down. However, astute people out in the great beyond archived it for posterity.

Later in the morning, the president again mentioned the Fed.

“The Fed Interest rate way to(o) high, added to ridiculous quantitative tightening! They don’t have a clue!” wrote Trump, who has long broken with decades of precedent set by previous U.S. presidents who distanced themselves from the nation’s monetary policy.

Many people believe that the Fed has every clue available and the people pulling the levers know exactly what they are doing, but that is not the point. President Donald Trump mentioned the Fed, and historically during his presidency, when Trump brings up a topic, controversial or not, it is a precursor to some other action. What that is, at this point, is anyone’s guess, but as the Fed is a central bank, and central banks are known for draining wealth from national treasuries as they do business, the next few months may break open a dam that conspiracy-minded Americans have been waiting for decades.
