Roger Stone Forgets Meeting FBI Controlled Russian Informant—Did He Lie?

For a solid year now, Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller has been trying to find evidence of some sort of collusion (which is not illegal) between Russian officials and what was the Trump for President campaign in 2016. Recently, it came to light that a Russian man living in Florida asked a Trump campaign aide, Michael Caputo, to set up a meeting with operative Roger Stone. This Russian claimed he had dirt on Hillary Clinton.

When they all showed up at the meeting, the Russian claiming he had a Ukranian friend with him who once worked for the Clinton Foundation, something Stone, Caputo, and the Clinton Foundation deny, the would-be informants demanded $2 million in exchange for information.

Stone told them to pound sand and forgot about the whole incident.

Mueller and his team, however, resurrected it, and of course, the mainstream media ran with the story. From all accounts, it sounded like nothing actually really happened as information and money did not change hands.

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a member of Trump’s legal team, on Sunday dismissed the significance of the Stone meeting.

“So, yes, sure, there was contact, as there was in that meeting. But that meeting led to nothing. This led to nothing. So, if anything, it’s proof there was no collusion,” he said in an interview with CBS’s “Face the Nation,” adding that Mueller’s team “can investigate from here to, you know, to Timbuktu, and they’re not going to find a darn thing.”

The only thing Stone and Caputo are guilty of is failing to report the contact, something they both claim to have forgotten about in the succeeding time period as they have been very busy.

This sort of gotcha reporting will no doubt happen until every last pebble of the Trump 2016 campaign is turned over and boiled in oil. If this is the best the Mueller team can come up with, there really must not be any there, there, just like President Trump claims.

“WITCH HUNT!” Trump tweeted on Sunday, insisting: “There was no Russian Collusion. Oh, I see, there was no Russian Collusion, so now they look for obstruction on the no Russian Collusion. The phony Russian Collusion was a made up Hoax. Too bad they didn’t look at Crooked Hillary like this. Double Standard!”
