Slavery Reparations Hearing In Congress On Democrat Agenda

One hundred and fifty-four years, at least, since the scourge of slavery was outlawed in the United States, members of the party that insisted on actually having slaves in the USA in the first place are now planning to hold hearings in Congress for reparations to the descendants.

A House Judiciary subcommittee will hold hearings on reparations next Wednesday, marking the first time in more than a decade that the House will discuss potentially compensating the descendants of slaves.

“The Case for Reparations” author Ta-Nehisi Coates and actor Danny Glover are reportedly set to testify before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, and the hearing’s stated purpose will be “to examine, through open and constructive discourse, the legacy of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, its continuing impact on the community and the path to restorative justice,” according to a Thursday Associated Press report….

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), who sits on the subcommittee, again introduced H.R. 40 earlier this year to create a reparations commission. Jackson Lee said her bill would create a commission “to study the impact of slavery and continuing discrimination against African-Americans, resulting directly and indirectly from slavery to segregation to the desegregation process and the present day.” She added in January that the “commission would also make recommendations concerning any form of apology and compensation to begin the long delayed process of atonement for slavery.”

“The impact of slavery and its vestiges continues to effect African Americans and indeed all Americans in communities throughout our nation,” Jackson Lee said. “This legislation is intended to examine the institution of slavery in the colonies and the United States from 1619 to the present, and further recommend appropriate remedies. Since the initial introduction of this legislation, its proponents have made substantial progress in elevating the discussion of reparations and reparatory justice at the national level and joining the mainstream international debate on the issues. Though some have tried to deflect the importance of these conversations by focusing on individual monetary compensation, the real issue is whether and how this nation can come to grips with the legacy of slavery that still infects current society. Through legislation, resolutions, news, and litigation, we are moving closer to making more strides in the movement toward reparations.

You just can’t make this stuff up.

Just wait until the Democrats find out it was their own party that perpetuated the slave trade, and that they want reparations from themselves.

  1. What a LOON! She needs to go after those who sold African negroes into slavery in the first place. African negroes.

  2. Like this article says “the Democrat’s were and are the slave makers”!! The Democrat’s traded with the African tribes who made slaves out of their neighboring tribes along with Arab trader’s who sold them to all country’s that had people who were way to lazy to harvest their own crops. In the U.S.A., that would be the “SOUTHERN DEMOCRAT’S” who were to lazy to pick their own cotton and tobacco crops!!! So bite me you MORONS!!

  3. Have the hearing, pass the law, pay them all off with a one-time sum, and let that be the end of Black freeloading on society forever! No more right to bitch and moan, even after they blow all the dough on gold spinner rims and menthol cigarettes.

  4. No argument or trashing any race, just a few questions and comments on the preparation and the aftermath of ANY decision that will eventually be made.

The question of passing a constitutional law demanding that reparations be paid will spawn another question that will DEMAND to be settled prior to any vote.

    1. Other than money changing hands, what will be the result of a law demanding that the American taxpayer contribute to the modern day population for the unethical, ill-conceived commercial activity of buying and selling another member of the human race, perpetuated by all members of the human race. ???
    2. If, reparations are intended to salve the wounds slavery, will those wounds be healed or just paid for??? If the treatment for wounds of slavery is merely money, then bad behavior can be purchased. If an apology is of less value than any amount of money, then the current victims’ pain can be eliminated by what amount of money?
    3. Once an amount of reparations is established and paid, does that payment absolve the payor of any further debt to the payee??
    4. What is the price of a human beings honor?
    5. If I am compelled , by law, to pay for the behavior of my ancestors, how does that change the effects of slavery?
    6. Should I be convicted of a crime committed by someone else, what allegiance do I owe the victim of that crime?
    7. Are reparations designed to compensate all victims of slavery and how is it determined that all are victims???
    8. Are there any who seek reparations that came to the US of their own volition??
    9. Will reparations demand respect from the payor??
    10. Does the reader believe that the enemies of the US, would stoke the flames of disagreement over reparations.?

  5. My family came her from Ireland, where we were slaves to the English, in the late 1800’s, I refuse to pay people who were NEVER slaves for their forefathers in Africa selling their own people into slavery. You don’t used the purchaser of a defective product, you sue the manufacturer.

  6. The democraps have been eaten up with insanity. This ugly witch(sorry about the misspelling) is probably as stupid and evil as any in the party! Don’t know where the rocks are located that they find these retards at but I wish they’d stop.

  7. Transport them back to Africa where they can fit in and segregate back into the jungle they seem to be bereft from. Perhap those who sold them into slavery will accept them back for not being too white. Perhaps their culture differences can mend and they can blend back together into one happy understanding of ” where the black man comes from ” unit and tolerate their entitlement attitude.

After all. It was the blacks who sold each other. So reparations should come from Africa.
